Weeds or Wildflowers?

"Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them."

The wish to belong is something intrinsic to human nature. However, at some time or another, the differences that make us unique also make us feel isolated. As an artist raised by scientists I often felt misunderstood. It took a long time to understand that there wasn’t anything wrong with me; my differences, similar to a weed in a garden were only unusual in context, and that with some resilience and time we all find our own corner of the world in which we can thrive.

Inspired by this experience, capsule 01 features patterns that consist of a collection of common weeds native to North America for it is only due to context that their beauty and resilience is often overlooked.
